There is a new group on the HAMB for 59-60 El Camino owners. Open to anyone who has a car, parts, or interest in these cars. If this fits you go to the social groups and join in.
I'am in, I got this one this week. 2 owner California truck since new. Sold new 5 miles from my house. BIG PLANS!!!
It took 5 years to find a good one. I knew about this one for the past two years and the guy called me three weeks ago asking if I was still interested in buying it. Dustin and I went to look it over right before X-Mas and drug it home last Sunday along with 2 pickup trucks chocked full of parts. Dustin took all of the pictures, he hasn't had time to post any since he is a--hole deep in chopping the Desoto. Stop by the shop and check it out. he is busting his butt to have the top and glass done by Motorama time. Speaking of which.... you gonna put the T in the Motorama this year? John
Still have plenty of room in the group for anyone else that wants to come in. I hope this might grow into something where those interested and those with vehicles can come to exchange information and network for parts etc..
I have a 60 elcamino I'm working on need some bed trim ,trail gate trim and eye brow trib anybody got some.
mine since '91 (my second car).....waiting it's turn to drive again (daily driver from '91-'02). this pic is just before it took it off the road to fix some rust (bed trim and roof trim is off).
Hi fellow El Camino owners. I live down under and own a 1960 El Camino that needs a teensy winsey bit of work. (Sound familar)??
Dad & I have a '60 Elky...I have a primo set of (extra) doors w/glass & regulators if anyone is in need...CA stuff with NO RUST
I have always dug 59 el caminos, but after seeing the mint colored one in the rodders journal a few issues back I have to have one
Sounds cool to me... I just joined the HAMB and I'm working on a 59 El Camino. I submitted a request to join the group.
Heres a few pics of mine... does anyone have any suggestions on a pick for wheels on this? The wheels that are on it are more of a muscle car or drag race style and I hate them on this car. I want something more fitting of the car. I plan on painting it with a heavy flake job.
Hard to go wrong with a nice set of genuine chrome reverse wheels. Lord knows the wheel wells will except them
Here's my husband's 60. This is from when we bought it. It still isn't on the road so I'm definitely going to join this group!
Yeah, I was just thinking that this morning when I was looking at it... chrome reverse wheels with some wide whites. Theres just so many choices out there, and wheels can make or break the look of a car. I want something that will fit the style of the car and not go out of style after I buy them. Thanks for the input!
for mine i've been wanting a set of radars and wide whites. Went to hcpu and bought some blue flake for my roof over the weekend.
Well my 59 left for the paint shop this morning. I got all the windows out of it yesterday and a few little things ready to go. Heres one last pick before it left to get some color. I'm pretty axious to see it all painted up...
Oh, and I sold these wheels and tires. Got me some Supreme 5 spokes to go on it after it gets back from getting painted.
Supremes should look good with some pinner whites. Wish my 59 was that far along! 60 should be done soon. Its been a long wait.
Here's my '60...almost done with the hard stuff, just waiting on the new engine to get put in. Then I can tackle gettin the trim cleaned up and interior. Looking forward to the first cruise around the block! Hopin its real sooooon.
OK, add me in please. Currently have two 59's. One wild 380" W engine road-racer on the street project, and one burned car I bought for the frame, but might so something with since it's actually pretty strait. Long term project to finish either, but I've been gathering parts for a couple of years. Even paid $500 for a set of NOS paint dividers, just befor the cast replica's came out. Still looking for an NOS RS outer tail-lamp bezel, but not going to pay crazy price for it. May have some parts to trade. Might want to split shipping for new floors with others on the west coast, truck freight is high, combined shipment can save quite a bit.
