Well that is a GREAT accomplishment FINALLY. Now protect your time and money and invest in one of the new security systems that can track the car if some moron steals it.

Congrats! What a great lesson...I’ve got a pile of parts with zero paperwork and this thread has been full of advice. Thanks to all and glad your car is back home and in your name.

Well I decided it was time. Time to cut out the tack strips that someone filled over for the “smooth” look. Carefully cut around with a box knife and unbolted the nine million #8 screws they put through it. I’d been wanting to put a white roof insert in. While I was pulling the tack strip I found it did have a white insert that someone painted black. So it’s going back white.

Well guys. I got my clear title in MY name. And the guy I bought it from refunded me my purchase price from the original deal. Can’t be much more appreciative for this year rather then last. I got the 392 back from Herm Peterson and Walt Austin Racing after a new crank. New block. Polished the cam. Redid the heads and completely cleaned and renewed everything. I have to some work to crank out before summer but it’s looking good. Been slacking on it for a while because I was just burned out. But it’s time to kick back into gear. My question to you guys. Bench seat or the buckets. I have both and will have covers done on both so I can switch out either way. Just taking a poll to see which is liked better. Thanks

WOW! I don't want to pass the HUGE NEWS! Dude, I don't know you but I am absolutely thrilled to read you have the title and you original purchase money back. Really happy for you!

What type of material would you do the buckets in? They could be cool... not in tweed though.

Outstanding news brother. I certainly wasn't expecting things to go your way last year. Me, I'd go bench seat.

Awesome News! Think the bench will be the right choice, but those vans seats would sure look great in my Model A. I definitely understand you needing to take a breather, you were caught in the quicksand for a long time. It will be Great to see you behind the wheel, Carp.

Good to hear things are finally going your way.
I really like the looks of that bench seat, but I think a high end street/strip car built in the mid to late 60's probably would have had buckets. So I'm voting for buckets.

Shit Yea! I had been avoiding this thread since I didn't want to read more about your misfortune with some shitbird, but im glad I opened it back up and see you standing in front of it freshly painted! Going to be a good year!

  20. Given the era of the build, I'd sure go bench seat . . . looks like it belongs in there (cause it does!). If you went the route of bucket seats, I think you'd need something from the time period I believe you're building too (60's). The buckets you have look too new to me.

I guess that I haven’t been watching this thread recently????
If I read this correctly, now you’ve decided to use the body that you started out with???? Did you list the other? This has to be such a mental roller coaster.
No matter how much money I’d have in it, perhaps the whole matter would’ve have instituted an alternative outcome. I’ve been through The whole Yo-Yo deal..it really sours ones views.
I love hot rods, especially model 40’s but you’re a much more resilient person than I.
Looking forward to seeing it back together again.

  22. Bench seat.

And if it's not too painful, you should write a book about this whole ordeal.

Thanks guys for the remarks and input. The interior will be done old school tuck and roll in pearl white and green/blue metal flake. I will be doing both seat setups since I like both that way I can have options. Glad to have the bad behind me and moving forward

I heard a quote once, something to the effect that people are depressed that live in the past, anxious that live in the future and at peace living in the now. Glad you can let the past go and get on with building our car.

Finally getting motivated in the right direction. Had my headers redone in jet hot and they are shiny now and got my ass to work and painted the motor. Should be getting the frame back together this week. Need to finish paint the firewall and then drop the body back on. But I’m moving anyhow

Dads approval getting the motor back in the chassis tonight. Such a good feeling having the motor back in 24CA74EF-8732-4A12-A9AF-C40BA6B52AE9.jpeg 770F8D83-D6B4-4609-B8E1-4B55EB30A634.jpeg
