i've been wondering what my roadster would look like with the windshield tilted back like the Bishop roadster. no chop, just leaned back a tad.

To tell you the truth Wayne I just finished cleaning some winter debris from my lawn and came in for something and to eat and took a look at HAMB and saw the post so I did it while waiting for the wife to call me. Just got back in now and saw your post so I thought I'd give you and answer which is no on both counts.

I wonder what would happen if someone threw a mustang in here. I think the cutoff date for The HAMB is 1964? A 1964 1/2 Mustang would certainly qualify.

Just think, we could see it with fenders, no fenders, wire wheels, '32 grille etc.

 

I believe the rule is 1965 or older but no Mustangs or Camaros of any year.

 

OK Wayne here's my take on it and being that it's only a concept and artiest rendering I don't think it's breaking any rules. Back in the day a friend of mine owned a 62 Ford Galaxie with a 406 cu engine. Ford introduced the 406 mid year for the Galaxie as a replacement for the 390 to compete with the bigger engines that were available in the Chevy, Mopar's and Pontiac. My buddy's 406 went like hell with loads of torque and I often wondered how it would perform in a lighter platform. I thought I would to a rendering of what that prototype might have looked like back in 62 if the design engineers had to come up with a concept car. Remember that this is only Photoshop version of what might have existed and this car never really existed but is just something I came up with based on your post. By the way I would not own a Mustang of any year if you gave it to me. They always reminded of a square box on wheels

 

Could someone do some work on the lower part of the front of the front fender of the coupe to look like the lower front corner on the truck ?

Maybe reshape the front of the wheel opening a bit more.

 

Thanks Moose, that looks even better, just never liked the original void there on such a full bodied car, looked like they lost interest in the design by the time they to that part of the car.

That's cool but how come it's not out of focus like the photoshop version?

 

This is a request on behalf of HAMB-er "chopolds", who is currently building a '56 Olds-mad.

I was wondering if one of you artistes could show us what this creation might look like when finished with that year's Olds 98 trim.

I was thinking it might be nice to create a stainless filler piece to fill the triangular "cove" at the base of the B pillar. I don't know if it would look better smooth or with vertical as l flutes. Or maybe it isn't needed at all...

Here are a couple of source images I found online (not his car) plus a detail shot of where the B pillar meets the beltline. Sorry the angle of the cars isn't quite perfect.

You'll need to ditch the continental kit and reposition the rear bumper, and I think an altitude adjustment is in order. I don't recall if he has a color in mind (single- or two-tone).

Operator error (on my part)! Which is just as well because I found a better image for the roof. If you can find a better image of the Olds for this exercise, by all means, use it.
