I am working on my p***enger side floors and rocker panel on my 53 Victoria. I have everything just about ready to tack and weld but my door is sagging and I’d like to get that fixed so I can make any adjustments now on the rocker (if I have to) before I weld anything. Anyone have a link on how they have been repaired before? Thanks in advance

The pins in the hinges may be worn causing the sagging. Also check for rust where the hinges are in the body. There might be some rust there. Have some one move the door up and down so you can look at the hinge area to see what the problem is.

Ok thanks. The area doesn’t seem to have any rust. The bolts that bolt on to the body moved freely when I moved the door up and down o could definitely feel the slop. I’ll take the door and I am sure the pins are worn out. Thank you

On my 55 I found out that someone before me left the bolts in the center of the hinge out. They only put the outside visible bolts in. Lots of sag until I figured it out taking my parts car apart.

Besides the possibility of the pins being worn, there is the possibility that the holes the pins go can be worn. If this is the case, you will have to find some oversize pins and drill out the hinge holes for them to fit.

I meant the bolts that bolt to the body moved freely not rusted in or jammed up. I’ll be taking it apart tonight and see what’s going on. Thanks for the help guys

Well I had my machinist buddy drill out the pin wholes to fit a slightly bigger pin. He left the whole slightly undersized so the pin would fit snug. Worked great and took all the slop out of the hinges. C51BBAB0-814E-4E83-94BB-DD01C057C492.jpeg
