50 years caked into vynl?....trying to figure if the original vynl sections on my 57 seat covers can be cleaned and saved.. i tried a few hardware store cleaners, and mineral spirits, acetone, and naptha are the heavy duty stuff i tried in small spots to no avail... any ideas? my rear seat is mint and the front just needs the center section replaced, which i contemplated being suzy homemaker and repairing myself.

WD40 works on vinyl. Don't use it on leather.
