These piston style shocks were removed from the front of a 1936 Ford hot rod. Back in the day, as the old lever shocks wore out, innovative hot rodders found ways to adapt newer technology and that's what happened here. These piston style hydraulic shocks have special cast adaptors that allow them to bolt directly to 1935-36 stock Ford frames (probably even 1937-40 maybe even through 1948) as a bolt on replacement with better function and the ability to rebuild. I took them off the frame myself years ago. They move by hand with resistance, feel like they should, I'm sure they'll work as-is, but you may need to rebuild them for optimal performance.
