New Dragstrip in Missouri

Lucas oil Speedway in Wheatland Missouri is saying they are going to put in a dragstrip as soon as they complete the Boat track next year.

( that what they said on the phone when we called down there.)

Where is that in relation to Branson?

 

Jim if I remember right Wheatland is a little north of Pomme De Terre lake.

ya hwy 54 and 83 cross there.

 

its 108 miles from here to wheatlsnd.
and 105 miles to KCIR so either way
for me is the same.

 

that speedway is just plain awesome. always wanted to catch a race there. are they putting in a jet sprint boat course? that's something I've always wanted to get into.

 

don't know but I follow then on face book to keep up with what is going on there. but from all reports it is one of the finest tracks in the country, I think they call it a Diamond track. it has a camp ground and all the good stuff. the boat track is going to be 4000 ft.
The drag strip will be about 200ft from the boat strip running parallel to the boat strip.

Damage was at the off road course primarily. The "cover" over the grandstand there was just completed a few weeks earlier!

The main track and most of the venue had no or very minor damage.
