Trying to remove the front fenders on my 55 Fairlane. I have the core support, and inner fenders out, removed the top and bottom fender bolts. There are still bolts hiding somewhere near the fire wall. Any suggestions where they are?

does the grille need to come out. My 56 did, along with the silver plate under it.

I took everything off the front end. The fenders are just hanging near the firewall

I don't know about 55 56 but on 52 54 there is a bolt that you have to get at from an access hole in the door jam.

Remove the kick panels on the interior to access the nuts. There is a stud on each fender that goes through the side of the body in those locations and each one is held on by a small nut. I think it is still 5/16-18? thread size and uses a hex head nut 1/2” in socket size. There are two bolts with 1/2” heads underneath the fenders as well. Usually these are rusted up since they sit upside down. Maybe that is what you mean by bottom fender bolts tho?

It took me a while to figure that out when I was removing my fenders. HRP
