I have a Sun Super Tach Model SST-802-2 that I can't get to work. It blows the fuse on whichever circuit that the 12 volt ignition terminal is wired to. I tried another identical tach and it works fine, so I can ***ume that the wiring on the car is correct. Does anyone know of a place that can fix this. I really would like to use this tach, the face is in excellent condition and the chrome is perfect.
Did you get this fixed? I have a similar situation. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
No I never got it fixed. I used the other tach I had, but now a 4amp inline fuse on the 12v feed to the tach and water and oil pressure gages keeps blowing as soon as I turn the key to on. If this tach is bad I'll probably replace it with one of the new reproduction versions like this. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bgs-fst8000 The new ones probably have better electronics than the originals, and cheaper than getting them fixed.
I have a sentimental reason to fix the one I have. It's the tach my dad used in my car 50 years ago. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
