    Luv it man.

Dig the solid axle vette steering wheel. Love the stance.

    You got it!

It looks fast too! Nice work, and good job not hacking it all up. I looked at one for sale recently that was really cobbled up, and I think it was done that way 'intentionally' for the look.

    Nice work.

Scary. Needs a straight axle, roll-cage, and a blown hemi for C/G :)

    Looks like fun!

  15. Thanks everyone! It was originally hopped up in the '60s and stored in a barn for about 30 years out in Colorado. It kinda had that "70s" feal to it when we picked it up so we brought it back to its earlier configuration. Its got a built early Corvette "fuelie" 327 with a racing cam and race tuned 750cfm Holley/Offy manifold and a Turbo 400 with a B&M shift kit. Posi rear with 4:11 gears, tractions bars, M/T cheaters, and up front its got 409 Impala springs, 2" ball joint spacers and 90/10 drag shocks. It doesn't have any exhaust and hopefully it can stay that way :D. Thanks,
    -Dean

    FWIW...

With an advertised weight of 3180# for the HT coupe, a 392 or 354 hemi would have made it A/G - 4.00 to 8.99 lb's per C.I. , a 331 hemi would have been B/G - 9.0 to 10.99 lbs. per c.i. .. throw a blower on it and it would have been A/GS and B/GS respectively.... NHRA 1963 rulebook...

    AWESOME G***er!!
    Enjoy it.

  22. You did such a great job re-creating an old street bruiser... uh, it looks like it just came out of a barn!

The only thing ya might think about is a velocity stack on that carb though...

I mean, man... that thing looks just like the old hot rodded tri-fives I used to see as a kid... that by 1984, were p***e...

I can remember looking at a '57 sedan that was in primer... had cut rear wheel wells... aluminum door panels... no motor $300. My dad made me p*** on it because someone had cut the fenders, and he said "you'd never get those back to normal!"

At the time, I would have taken a '55 with cut out wheel wells if it had been cut out nicely... but a '57 was just kind of odd, even at the time, to have them cut out.

Dang though... if we'd only knew the way things would have turned out...

    Anywho, nice car!

How fast do you think it will run?

    Sam.

  27. That baby is absolutly PERFECT!!

I want it,,,,or one jsut like it..

Great job man, like Sam said perfect job recreating a car that cruised the boulavard back in the day.

I have fond memorys of cruising in a car so much like that it's scary.

  28. Thanks guys! I cant say for sure how fast it would run the quarter but I will say its one of those violent/scary rides. Would love to take it to a strip. It actually handles surprisingly well just driving around town. Wouldn't dare try it at any higher speeds though :D. We are actually going to put a little aluminum velocity stack on it. That Stelling Hellings is just too restrcitive. Thanks again,

Looks great but then again I'm kinda drawn to these things anyway. That looks like an old Offenhauser dual port intake on top of those double-hump heads. It's cool to see a well done hardtop as most of the '55 G***ers seem to be sedan models.
