so I’m running a 327 sbc and I bought a pertronix distributor. The one that looks stock but is all electronic. I also ordered the coil along with it. Now I’ve been having issues with the car just shutting off. Starts right back up than when it decides the time is right it shuts off again. Always starts up again though. Tech at pertronix asked me what coil. Went back to my invoice and told him a 3.0. He said I should be running a 1.5. Ordered it and installed it today. Drove several miles and no problems so far. Just thought I would look at old coil and surprisingly it’s a 0.6 ohm coil. It that for a 6 volt system? Was that my problem or was my 32 ford just being nice to me tonight. Thanks for any help.

Which Ignitor? Ignitor II uses a .6 ohm coil for sure.

You need 1.5 ohms, according to the instructions. Also, don't be powering it on and off rapidly and don't leave it switched on while you are testing other things. The Ignitor I will burn up.
