I've been learning from you all for a couple of years now: Olds 371, 2g carbs, gauges, tools, etc. Thank you. I have a 1946 Hudson pickup I dragged out of a field in 2011. Been collecting parts and will finally start on it this summer. An Olds 371 3x2 engine and early T10 will replace the original flathead and 3speed.
"the second mouse always gets the cheese" You got my family rolling on the ground with that one. The build will more performance leaning. Racer wannabe in the early sixties modifying a local farm truck by taking advantage of the move away from Olds power. I'll fit it with a hitch for hauling to the track and a removable push bar for when it arrives. I believe the 371 I found was a race engine at one point. It's got solids lifters, adjustable rockers, fuel pump block off plate, Offy rocker covers, and filled coolant p***ages. A failed rocker shaft bolt is probably what ended its run. I plan to do***ent the tear down and post a deconstruction thread. The coolest thing about the build is how excited my daughter is about it.
Hi. Love those long nose Hudsons. A friend here in Texas bought a 41 just a couple of weeks ago. Understand it has been fully restored sometime in the past but have not seen it yet. If you have the original flathead and ****** do not s**** them as they can be sold to Hudson owners. I checked on a 27 Hudson pickup last year that did not have engine & ****** but someone beat me to it. Good luck with it. Jimmie
