It's a '65, is that a problem???

Hey HAMBers... I've looked, I swear, but I can't find the "cut-off" year for posting on this here message board. Maybe it's the fact I've "had a couple", I dunno. I know in the classified section it says "pre-'65", but does that apply to the general board as well??? Basically, my lovely girlfriend just picked up a nice 1965 Ford Ranchero and would love to start her own profile. Is this cool???

    I'd say a problem if...

    A) You're planning on doing this car in a non-HAMB friendly style (ie; slot mags, white letter tires and other muscle car-esque themes).

    B) You make a big deal out of it being a '65. I've seen plenty of Bellflower-style '65 Impalas on past versions of the board and nary a squeak from anyone.

It's only the new guys that seem to be determined to keep us to their narrow path of what is and is not traditional starting material.

The '65 is essentially the same as the '64 so it shouldn't even be an issue as long as you keep the build/styling HAMB like...

  4. I drive a '65 C-10 ya gotta be pretty sharp to tell it from a '64. 'Bout the same deal on a '65 ranchero.

I probably wouldn't have a problem with it but someone might. I don't know that you're even required to have a car to be on the HAMB just being like minded with the focus is probably enough.

Hell let 'er fly, and if its a problem its a probelm. Anyway that's my thoughts on it.

Owning a 65 I would say it's a loose rule here pre-64. Everyone here has been nice and helpful to me...

  8. Its a matter of perspective I guess. If could have owned a late model when I was a kid i would have owned the truck I own now.:D

its a funnty thing some '65 vehicles don't look any different than their '64 counterparts mabe some trim pieces and some '65s are totally different. look at a '65 Impala compaired to a '64 for instance. Then look at my C 10 same company and yet the trucks are nearly the same. It was truely the changeover year. Some models make the cut for more traditional 60s style cars and some just don't.

the 65 cutoff here and most traditional show-Billetproof, Rock-n-Rods, etc is to keep the muscle cars out. Hell, I was on here for two months before i even owned a car worth posting on here.

I have a '93 Escort, and I was wondering if you guys can tell me how to lower this thing......

Just kidding, but I do have a '68 Deville that I definately plan on doing old school style. I didn't see anything about a cut-off rule on my way in, but I can respect the idea. Would you want some guy with a '79 Camaro joining your hot rod club???

The way I see it, when I'm done with this thing, anyone who doesn't know their Cadillacs would be guessing '62? '63? just from the way I'm building it. At least that's the look I'm going for.

Great minds think alike, that's why I'm here...

I have a '93 Escort too! I was gonna do a straight axle under mine, though, with an FE and Hillborn stack injection.
