Picked this up from an old hot rodder who lives about 15 miles from me yesterday. It was laying in his yard. I'm planning on running it in my deuce 5w. Ive never seen someone run the tierod above the wishbone like this. It rubs the wishbone, and ill be running it below the wishbone. Its a pretty good looking drop. I was wondering if anyone can help me i.d. this thing. Is it a Dago? Mor-Drop? Thanks guys.

I think it's impossible to tell who dropped. Okie Joe in ok. might shed some light on it.

I've always wondered how a guy would be able to tell who dropped an axle. I hear guys refer to their axle as Dago or Mor-Drop all the time. All I can tell about this one is it looks like it's been hammer dropped.

The tie rod is above the wishbone from the factory on '32-34's. If using factory arms (32-48), you really have to drop them a bunch to get them below the wishbone. More than I feel comfortable doing. On my PU with a dropped axle I still have them above the bone. If you trim some of the back lip off the crossmember you can get enough clearance to do it that way....***uming you don't go insanely low with your spring.

It's common to run the tie rod above the wishbone like that. You just need to heat and bend the steering arms up a bit in the rear so it clears.

I guess I forgot to mention these are 37-41 round back spindles. They did alot of bending to get them above the bone. Haha

Most often seen is to 'double-taper' the tie rod holes (halfway down from the top) and install the tie rod from above spindle arms, instead of thinking they HAVE TO be installed from the bottom...(common sense?) After market arms are tapered from top and bottom.
As mentioned, the trailing edge of the cross member is the only concern.
DO jump up and down on front horns with wheels turned, to ***ure clearance...
