Did axle dimensions change during 1937-1941? I keep getting conflicting info. for the king pin C/L. Some info says 49 1/2" other state 48 1/2". The only consistant info. is spring perch C/L of 38 1/2"

Does anybody know for sure without question the dimensions and why I keep finding two different dimensions. For that matter, I would like to have this kind of info for all ford axles '28 thru 50ish.

I am most interested in cars and not so much truck axles, but wouldn't be board if someone had this info as well.

Also, I need info about the ball on wishbones...Is there a replacement for the rubber and what sizes did these come in. Can a guy find the cups and build something into a cross member to run unsplit bones on an A frame.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Just walked out to the shed, measured two axles. king pin C/L is 48 1/2"

  3. Ford tractors mounted the front radius rods to the frame with balls akin to those on wishbones. Never seen it done on a rod. But then again, I have not seen every rod in existance.

Most antique For parts houses have the rubber vibration insulator.

I'd like to find more details too, I took a tape measure to the front end ***embly pictured below, I think it's a '36 with the mech. brakes, but the measurements I got beter match the '37-'41 listed above... I modeled a reasonable copy of it in SWX, I plan to model as much of the A as reasonable to get a better idea of what I'm building...

    Couple questions...

Where is the "Arch Length" measured from?

What is the King Pin angle?

And are the Bone mount bosses drilled at an angle?

    Thanks!
