51 ford coupe help

    howdy fellow hambers can anybody help me with my car ,,,i have a 51 ford coupe the steering box is shot i cant find another one is any one selling a kit to chng it over to late model or has any one done this? i think mine is not the only one to go bad, im a jonesen to drive it any help would be cool...thanks flyn

    You did adjust it at all three adjustments? The screw with the locknut on top, the four bolts that hold the bottom to the top, and the other one which i cant remember. i did this to mine and wow! took all the slop right out!

    yea i did then i took it out (what a bear) sent it out it needs the worm, sector and roller
     
  6. Fatman Fabrications, do a web search I highly recommend the volvo swap. power box is great still gives you road feel.

    If you want to get a used one. Jim House in Clatskaie, Oregon has a few of the old shoe boxes at his place and is real easy to get along with. I have his number if you want it. Gumpa

    You might also check Jamco Products in Rohnert Park, CA. He makes a lot of upgrade stuff for shoeboxes, including a Volvo conversion.
