Hello everybody. I need the Frame Dimensions for my 1949 Mercury. I have been searching the threads, but can not find any. Anybody who can help? Best Regards JT in Norway.
Look for a Motors Monthly or Chiltons Annual magazine on eBay or elsewhere, they carried a lot of the same tune-up data as the repair books but also included frame diagrams.
I recently ordered some frame dimensional charts including one for '49 Merc. The stuff has not arrived yet...if no one comes up with a chart immediately, PM me in a week or so. Bruce
I have a body shop blueprint with measuerments. For some reason my scanner won't send to my Computer. Maybe I can just tell you what you need if you make it clear enough. The Wizzard
I need a complete chart, because I have to show the Norwegian authorities that my 1949 frame have the correct measurements. Here in Norway there are some laws and rules which I have to follow, so I can get the licenseplates and documents correct for my Kustom. (The authorities does not know we are in 2009, and every child with a computer can make every document they want, look however they want...) So if someone can e-mail me a scanned copy, I will be very happy. Offcourse I can buy a copy on e-pay, but if one of the H.A.M.B.ers have one to send it would be the easy way. Thank everybody for responding!
If this is not cleaar enough PM me and I'll e-mail you a better copy. By the way do a google search for Faxon automotive literature and order a manual for that Merc that's where this pic came from. Hope this helps, Jim AKA Blown49
I made a print of the chart from Jim Blown 49, and the result was perfect! Thank you everybody, and a special thanks to Jim! Can Jim please send me a PM, with your snailmail/ postadress? (Maybe the Santa Claus comes early this year...) Best Regards Jan Tore in Norway.
