Been an oc***ional lurker for a short while, thought I should go ahead and register. The board seems to have a great mix of like minded bretheren. I'm a converted GM/Mopar musclecar guy (they've just gotten to damn expensive). I had a finished rod a while back. A 30 Ford 5-window, that had already been chopped, channeled, and shortened down to a 3-window coupe. It was a *****in' rod, but it was a little cramped inside and I really wanted to do something on my own. I bought a pretty stock 37 Ford 5-window Biz Coupe a couple months ago and have been going about the process of turning the car from an "old mans" car into a 50's era rod. The 30 year old paint from the 70's resto is now off the car. The brown 70's **** carpet is out of the car. I've lowered it on both ends and put wide whites on the steelies. The 24-bolt Flattie, the 3-speed Top Loader, and the Banjo rear are staying. I'm still a few weeks away from having the car out of my buddies body shop, but I'll try and attach some before pics of the car and one pic of a '36 done in a similar way. More pics when she's paroled.
Welcome! What part of the T.C. are you from? I bet you're trying hard to have your 37 done for 50's. That was the 1st event I had my 40 done for. It sure is fun to get done in time, a real bummer when you don't. Shawn
NW of the cities... Elk River to be exact. I was originally planning on having it ready for BTT50's but it's looking like I'll be coming up a little short of time. I wound up having to work on that Friday and Saturday anyway. I will be there though on Sunday, hoofing it.
