Finally picked one up the other day. Not sure of the year, no grill, no ***le. I know there is a difference in the headlight buckets. Can anyone tell from them the year? Thanks IMG_20190626_104515.jpg IMG_20190628_142310.jpg IMG_20190628_142322.jpg IMG_20190628_142310.jpg IMG_20190628_142322.jpg

    Cool!

Differences that I can think of are holes in vent doors that would be for the "ford" badges that were on the later years. Also the headlight buckets do not have the inner brackets for sealed beam headlights, so probably from an earlier year COE.

Thanks KS. I am trying to find one with a ***le. It is impossible to get a ***le in Illinois. What do the ***les match up to? Nothing on the cab, correct?

Congrats!! I think the gauges in the 38-40 were 2 round pieces and in 41-47 they were square units. I found my numbers on the crossmember under the radiator. Can you do anything in Ill if you have those? In NH, those numbers and a verification from a cop gets you on the road legally.

My VIN was impossible to see until I started to sand the surface rust away.

My VIN was also on the front cross member under the radiator. Check with your local DMV about getting an antique ***le before you make any decisions. You might be able to get a Bonded ***le in Illinois.
