back in 02 I bought this 57 from a guy named Mike Peppers down in Iowa. It has a fiberglass body hinged like a funny car, a 265 with a fake blower and a 4 speed. As it turns out it was built by Jim Allen from Denver for Revell to tour the show circuit in order to promote their line of Dave Deal designed “Deals Wheels “ model kits. There was also a ZZZZZ28 and 2 dune buggy showcars that toured with it. I had never been able to find any vintage photos of my car at a show in a magazine or even in an ad. The buggies and the camaro did show up in print but not the 57. Until last week when my deals wheels saved search on eBay paid off with a 2x2 photo taken at a show in Pa in 1971!!!

that's cool! quite an old photo.

I remember having the ZZZZZ28 when I was a kid, but I was too young to know I needed to hang on to it for 50 years

  4. I also had one of the models, what is the scale Mark? HRP

Life imitates art...it really is only missing some big ghoully monster sticking out of it...as I think of that popular style that filled the pages of car mags and T-Shirts of the 60s/70s every time I see it...

Glad you found some history on it...It just adds to the provenance...

It would be cool to see the box art of that model kit painted on the wall right behind the car display.

  15. I thought it was static art,I had no idea it would run.

Would love to see you make a you tube video of driving it around. HRP

  16. If we don’t get to see a video of that moving under it’s own power, preferably doing a burn out there will be a bunch of disappointed gearheads around here!

look at the pic above with the body tilted and see the pedals and steering column. this thing is very difficult to drive to say the least. but next time I move it (it may be a while) I will get someone to video it

I remember some guy driving this car around the Puyallup fairgrounds in Washington at a Good Guys event. It was a number of years ago. Surprised it ran. But as Mark mentioned, it was a handful. Wish I had had a camera back then. Oh well.

Not so much. Mom's dusting practice was brutal. Then the survivor's one day got the custom affect by my Son. Now my eye's won't have it and my finger's are too fat. But those were good model day's back then. Had lot's of Tom Daniels as well.
