Hello everyone and thanks for any help in advance, have a 61 GMC pickup and picked up an aluminum radiator and the new one has ports for a tranny cooler which I would like to use.

Both port are on the bottom of the rad though not top and bottom like the other ones I’ve seen. Anyway to know which is feed and which is return without the motor running? Still finishing up the motor but would like to run the cooler lines and trying to figure out which one is feed and which is the return line, thanks for any help everyone

  2. To my knowledge it usually doesn't matter. HRP

That’s what I was thinking also bc it’s just flowing through and out it shouldn’t matter but wasn’t positive, thanks primer

  4. ...use it if you like, doesn't matter which way you hook it up;...I'd run a separate
cooler mounted along side the trans on the frame rail where it can get air ,...use 2 short lengths of rubber hose and pre-made hard lines off trans;...less work and keeps heat out of radiator,..been runnin these on over 2 dozen hot rods with no problems.
