54 235 6cyl hyd lifter eng and 54 glide rear end 350-400 bucks

came out of running car , and I need it for my 52 chev , motor will be rebuilt , but will try to run rearend as is , seems like a good deal to me .

can I just bolt my late head on the early block , and what is the ratio on the 54 glide rearend ( tall I hope )

You'll have to put a front engine mount on it, and the glide rear has numerically lower gear.
PG's came with 3.55 ratio, sticks were 4.10 iirc
    sounds like a deal

54 Powerglide rears had 3.55, but the manual trans had 3.73. Pre 53 the manual trans cars had 4.11

you can bolt a 848 head on.

$200 is reasonable for the motor

'52 & '54 mounts are the same, '58 up cylinder head will bolt on the '54 block.

These days, it's worth the money. '54 is the last year with the early water pump, and is a no h***le bolt in for your '52. It's getting hard to buy "out of a running car" parts for these old toads. At least you know they work.

my car has homemade side mounts on stock towers and a 61 engine in it now , and its knocking , so I will put the late head on a rebuilt short block using the 54 block , I can then use my original 52 sidemounts , and get rid of the ghetto fab stuff thats there now , right?

and the rear end torque tube is from a glide and will be behind my 3spd , but the transmissions are the same length right? will be happy with 355s

    and thanks for the input.
