First photo shows Aldo Andretti down low in the Four Cam Ford sprinter that Mario bought for him to race. This is a completely different car from the A.J. Watson Ford sprint car. Aldo was seriously injured in the car at an IMCA race in Des Moines later in 1969. Engine wizard Larry Slutter was the mechanic on the car. And the second photo shows the second rear drive Novi in 1956. This car was originally assigned to Jimmy Davies but he had a falling out with Lew Welch over money and quit the ride. If I recall Eddie Russo got in the car at the last minute but was still in line when Time Trials ended so the car was a DNQ.

Don’t live in Buffalo, but remember the picture in Car Craft magazine. Awesome street car at that time.
