Hey guys, i just bought an olds big block. I was told it's a 394. I'd like to know the year so i can see if there's a tri-power manifold set for this beast.
    Help!

Some of this info looks bad to me. But some good. Did this come from the online Olds FAQ? Their info is riddled with bad info on the early rockets.

582813 should be '62 only, and not '61 or any other year.

NONE of those casting numbers should be '59-64! They should be '59-60 371, '59-60 394, '61 394, '62 394, and '63-4 394. The blocks are too different from each other to have the same casting number for all years '59-64.

As for the original question, on the top of the bellhousing, a 394 will have "4-1/8" cast on to indicate the bore size of a 394.

Thanks for the 411. Do you know if there's a tri power manifold for the 394?

I have an olds block cast number 582813 and bore measures 4-1/8 but haven't got the 4-1/8 stamped next to block number ? Is this a 394 block?
