The ch***is is about finished, a little plumbing left to do but can't do to much more without the body. When I saw the body last week it was getting close to paint. It had the 2nd or 3rd guide coat on it and they were still smoothing out the peak on the hood and a little body work on the deck. Still hoping to be on the street by the end of summer ?? Gary
Lookin' Good Gents!!! My '56 is about to tak it's maiden voyage also, but I have to have the kingpins replaced in the frontend, a little to sloppy and I'm pissed because they were just installed last fall, not sure what went wrong, but I pulled the axle out tonight and will drop it off. Here is a pic of my car last night with my buddy Lonnies '55.
WOW Todd nice job, great detail. Is that a tremac behind your bell housing ? The rear in mine is a 9" ford out of a 70's pick-up 350 gears. Hope to see these two on the track at the same time someday. Gary
Yeah, it was one of those kodak moments! And I can't wait to see all these g***ers with bodies on them, they look awesome!!!!
Wow gent's.................there all lookin really KOOL!! Looks like a bumper crop of g***ers this year!!
They all look great, guy's!! Without a doubt, some of the nicest work I've ever seen! You will all have machines to be proud of. And FUN, too!!
hey Hot rod-Roadster. I've got an M-21 bolted to an old Ansen "blow proof" bell bell housing. Keep me up to date on your 55. We all have to get together for "The Drags" Nice job guys!
... Hot ROd Roadster '55 builder dude... One thing you might want to do is put that steering arm (on your cross steer set up) on the top two backing plate bolt holes on that spindle instead of the way it is. Doing so will cut down on the bump steer... AND... cut down on the "wobble" that the bent arm is going to give you. With it higher on the spindle, the drag link will move in less of an arc and not change the distance as much. And because it would be a straight tube, it will not compress or contract like the one you have will. Sam.
