Here’s a (way too long) video of the Ford Ranger 7.5 rear end swap I did on my 1953 Mercury Monterey. It’s kind of a tutorial.

Look's like it works great, the only question I have is why not a 8.8?

I went to my local pick and pull and they only had three 89-92 Rangers and they all had 7.5’s with 3.45 gears. I figured my 110 hp flat head still couldn’t break the 7.5, so I settled for it.

Putting the same 1990 ranger differential in a 1950 Mercury. If you would please let me know what u joint fit the merc drive shaft to the ranger rear? Did the stock Merc work or is there another part number?
