That's more disposable income than I'll ever see....and that's just the trucks and haulers.

Thanks, Brian! Man, there's some great cars there already. That black Vette sure looks familiar, what a Beauty. Hope everyone has a Great and Safe race, Carp.

Looks to be a good turn out. Heat has to be killer though. Up here by Wisconsin Dells it was 94 with a heat index of a 120. I have been working on a job site in Waunakee all week with commercial fans up and down the hallways and it has still been to much. Have a previous engagement so I cannot make it anyhow. But I don't think I could take sitting in the stands anyways. Hopefully the turn out is good enough that they do it again next year . Larry

Thanks for the pix Racer-x. Looks like a good turn out.

  21. The track is doing alot for the racers and fans to keep them cool.
The track is calling cars by class one at a time. This works great. The racers were in the lanes for the least amount of time.
At the shut down area there were guys there to give you a cold bottle of water.
The sheriff had a misting station set up.
    There were air conditioned tents.
The third story of the timing tower was open to cool off.

  22. The car count is down this year. Partly do to a screwed up registration process. The heat also is playing a part. It's very much like the melt down. Everyone is having fun.

Drove 6 hours from Minnesota Friday early AM. Got so hot I went home after 4 hours. Too much heat and humidity for this old man. My dragster stayed at the track with some friends. No record performances though but with the new converter it left hard. Like racer-x said, the track did an excellent job. Support this event next year. Glory Days 001.JPG

Was a brutal day as a spectator, couldnt imagine what it was like as a driver.

The Nostalgia boys had a nice display and Scott Rods guys put on a good show with the big burnouts....hell everyone put on a great show.

Had a blast, even with the heat, the track was pulling all the stops they could t 20190719_153752.jpg 20190719_153738.jpg 20190719_140222.jpg 20190719_140308.jpg 20190719_135823.jpg o help and we were able to find relief once and awhile....i was able to make it thru the whole day from noon until 10pm.

Picked up a few things from the swap, and drooled over what I couldnt take home. Met some cool people Hambers and non-Hambers.

A little bit more advertising and this will be a hell of a show.

  26. ...talked with BJ, the track owner,...the smaller car count, spectator count and swapmeet count was almost entirely due to this heat wave,...Bj said the phone and emails were overloaded with cancellations ...over 250 cars out by Friday morning.
I managed to survive 2 & 1/2 days so far and am going back tomoro even tho they're predicting rain showers off and on...altho much cooler temps/humidity.
today there was a possible storm moving in by around 3 PM,..everyone was notified,...by 3:30 the temps drop'd at least 20 degrees in a few minutes,...I drove west to home in cool air and no wind or rain, don't know if the track got any bad weather, will find out tomoro.
Love this event, hope they keep it going.
