I'm looking for a company that would be interested in making a few sets of this curved corner gl***. I have a group of people interested. if the price is right there is also interest in a 2 piece conversion (from the original 6 piece). Any companies you've used? I know we can buy plexi replacements but that sounds horrible to me. Thanks in advance.
IIRC, there was somebody in Sweden (or one of the Nordic countries) that would custom-make windshields if you furnished a pattern. A couple of very high-end customs got them. I don't imagine it will be cheap....
I think you would have to start by making a pattern as stated above. Check out this https://www.customcarchronicle.com/custom-cars/custom-gl***/#.XULdAehKjIU for some ideas. Google "custom windshields". A bunch of years ago a buddy of mine made a pattern and had one made. If I remember correctly, somewhere in the Boston, Ma area.
The right plexi, MR5000 (or 4000) won't be cheap either but likely cheaper than gl***. What's right about it? One of my race pals had it in his bracket racer for a dozen years that I know of and it always looked like gl*** in spite of untold amounts of shoe polish dial-ins and cleaning. I think a 4X8 sheet used to be about 3 times the cost of standard stuff.
