Generator HELP arizona guys

    hey everyone in az, i need some info quick... where can i find a generator rebuild kit for my 57 pontiac?

    the thing just took a dump and we're planning on leaving tomorrow morning 6am to L.A. i need to find some parts to fix it before then. any ideas?

    Try the local NAPA store. Just might have what you need. Or try tro find an older rebuilder shop.

    yup, or even a "real" parts store (not a chain), or an old starter repair shop. There isn't a "kit", just brushes, and the bearing and bushing.

    Try Car Quest.

    Seriously, they had my 1964 Ford Galaxie 289 powered Generator in stock when mine went south one firey afternoon in a parking lot about five years ago.

    I became a wiring and Ford electronics expert in about 2 hours, I already had the fire containment down prior.

    prolly too late for you but try GEN-STAR at just south of glendale ave on 63rd ave.

    turns out i didnt get the generator fixed... so i said fock it i just charged the battery up the night before, and drove all the way with no generator, i threw two batteries in the trunk just in case,

    i made it the whole way out there, drove it around all weekend, and drove back on the same battery, it even started up this morning for me. No start sally was being nice to me this weekend.

    thanks to everyone who gave advice!
