I can turn the wheel till the cows come home, or the tire hits leaf spring. Can someone show me a pic were they are to be, 48 Merc truck
Most times when you buy a new king pin kit the wedges (some call them cotters) that retain the k/p in the axle only come with nuts and lock washers to hold them tight. When your truck was built it would have had what looks like a long acorn nut, but instead of a rounded end they are machined with a 45° angle and when the back side of the spindle contacts the angle that is what serves as the stop. If you installed the new pins hopefully you kept those long nuts and can put them on. If you do not have them look around on the 'net and you can find replacements.
You can most likely figure out what thread you have on the Wedge pins (or just take one of the nuts to Fasten all or another bolt supplier and get a couple of "long" nuts with the correct thread. Screw them on and then check to see how far the spindles turn and if you need more grind a little off the end until you get it the way you want it.
Mac's has them....https://www.macsautoparts.com/store/model-a-ford-front-spindle-bolt-locking-pin-nut.html They have the lock pins also....https://www.macsautoparts.com/store/model-a-ford-front-spindle-locking-pin.html
