Hey guys I’m in Flint Michigan for the CANUSA games. Both my daughters are participating on the girls basketball team. What’s to do in this great city basically got the whole day tomorrow to explore anything car based to do in this historic car town. Getting food and watching a movie tonight as tomorrow’s an early start .
Don't drink the water. If any of the old GM plants are still standing take some pics and post them up.
Yes on Henry Ford Museum. If you don't have time for that... Car related: https://backtothebricks.org/ Lunch related: https://www.bigjohnsteakandonion.net/subs
Can't advise you on the sights but everyone I've ever met from Flint when I served was either double tuff or crazier than a $hithouse rat....lol. My kinda people....good luck to your girls !
Hey Frankie!...maybe it was lead in the water that made em crazy!....and maybe they were taught at a young age like I was " if your gonna be dumb, you better be tough"!....( I tried to not be dumb!)
Hey, part of the old Dort plant is still there and the office building across the street is where the beginnings of GM started by Billy Durant.
As I recall there are two good museums there the Sloan museum and across the parking lot there was a Buick Gallery and research center [that was four years ago] according to Google it's called the Perry Archives. The trip to Frankenmuth well worth it
The Back to the Bricks show is running now in downtown flint and I’ll add a second to the Sloan museum. For food the Black Rock in Davison was great if you are carnivores. Went there recently picking up another 389 Pontiac. Good luck! Randy Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Wow, Back to the Bricks sounds like good timing for you. Want to be close to take in your girls games, but still check out the hot rod scene in the off time. We traveled lots when my boys played basketball and soccer, and we sometimes had time to check out the local shops or quick garage tour.
The Henry Ford for sure...went there some years ago and the automotive section was closed for re-do...only drove 300 miles to see it....ha shoulda checked first but any went thru it Amazing!!...spent teh day at Greenfield Village ...also fantastic!
I was there yesterday for a work event....Big Johns Steak and Cheese....Mmmmmm...there was a water advisory due to main line issues... the old GM plants are mainly vacant fields in not great areas. Roadkill event is about 30 minutes away today..drag racing on Woodward avenue And yes on Back to the Bricks...
Im in Pittsburgh for a wedding this weekend and the wife and I are going to drive the extra 4 hours to the Henry Ford Museum Monday. Cant wait!
Flint is a shithole. I lived there for about 6 months, which was 5 months and 29 days too long. I tried to find something good about Flint. I tried soooo hard. Something. Anything. NOTHING. Everything sucked. Restaurants. Bars. No sights to see. Something to do? Leave. You'll be much happier.
