Hello everyone. I am putting a 1947 g series 6 cylinder into this 51 f3. The truck was originally a 239 8ba v8. It looks like the 6 cylinder wont fit the front crossmember. Are the 6 and 8 that much different? If they are what do I need to get/ change to make it work? Thank you for your time.

  2. It will fit. You need the bolt on side mounts for the engine, and you need to move the radiator support to the forward set of holes. You will need to move the battery tray to the other side as well and likely change some wiring and the fuel line around.

Thanks for the response. I mistakenly swapped the engine mount brackets side to side. Put them on the correct way and it fits like a charm. Good info on the battery stand as well. Thanks again
