Hot Rods 39 and 40 Chevy Coupe

I have a question, my dad has a 1939 Pontiac Coupe we are working on as a father some build. I know that 1939 Chevy fenders and stuff work and fit. But a guy in my area is selling a 1940 Chevy coupe parts car. Would the hood and fenders fit on a 39? They look the same, but I’m not too familiar with these cars. Thanks

There are ‘40 Pontiacs that shared the ‘40 Chevy body shell (GM ‘A’ body), but as said above, won’t work on your ‘39. The ‘39 was a one year body for Chevrolet too! GM ‘B’ body shells were used for both ‘39 and ‘40 Buick, Pontiac and Olds. A true ‘shell game’.....
