OK........I took pics of the cars that i thought had merit. Course everyone sees it different. We left from Anaheim about 7am and arrived at about 8. My Roadster had a problem in the rear end so rather than chance it i had the expensive way home......via Flatbed ! Anyway hope ya all enjoy the pics, it was a great day amongst a sea of cars from one end of the Fairgrounds to the other.

This was the first time I went to the LARS and I was really glad I went. I ran into Bad Bob and San Dimas Guy and a couple others who I can't remember their names now, sorry guys; too much time in the sun.

Here are some more pix from the bunch that I snapped.

  11. Nice to see the Track T's and lakesters. They stole the show for me. They were by far some of the nicest cars there. IMO. Didn't see any "Ratrod Rustmobiles" whats up? ;-)

    Hey Cruzr
Thanks for sharing the pics, I'll be out there in the sun tomorrow morning after breakfast @ Brackett Airport accross the way.
It has been way too stinkin hot for me to get out there in the roadster & deal with the extra 20 degress of heat that the engine builds up inside the pass compartment. Hopefully it will be a little cooler tomorrow, Did ya get bit by any of the little bugs that were flying aroung the swap area? heard the were worse yesterday.

Wonder how many other Connectict cars drove out with that light blue '32 Tudor?

It was hotter than a virgin on Spanish Fly,bugs were minimal.
Even after dousing myself with 50wgt Sun Block , i look like Baked Alaska ready to be served. But we had a great time, Stan Betz was there, Blackie Gejan was cruising around in a electric chair, Pete Eastwood was prresnt, and Jim Busby was cruising the swap area as usual looking for that elusive rare part he doesnt have yet.

By the way Gene Winfield was there and it his birthday today!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY GENE !

i think the suntan lotion acted like a marinaid and just cooked me like prime rib......then once i was nice and tender the little flesh eating bugs came after my arms and legs.......then you try to smack and scratch them of which burns like no other.......but all in all the Cars where bitchin and the swap was fun. same time tomorrow!!!!!!

    Thanks for thr great Photos

  21. I was there. Took my A-truck...I think I overly super heated the flatty...but amazingly, it got me there and home w/ no problems. I dont think its going to see any long drives for some time until a new motor is transplanted. :(

(means to exhaust here)...the parts were once again over priced and not negotiable in the price. -insane- I found a nice workable decklid (which I have been searching for for some time), he wanted $500 bux. The seller wouldnt even budge $50. needless to say, I came home with nothing but a dash plaque. :(

Lots of cool rides there for sure. Sorry I didnt take any picts. I was overly frustrated in the high priced parts. It was like HAMB numbers times ten.

  25. What's the motor in that grey 27 r/p? At a guess I'd say a banger with o/h cam crossflow head?

I showed up a little late, around 1:30 or so. Did anyone see a lakes racer called the "vintage hammer" or something along those lines? The wife and I were standing right there when the guy decided to fire it up and rev it to the moon for 5 minutes or so.

Velocity stacks and upswept headers--what a glorious sound!!
