Hello from germany, I'm looking to get as much information about the race car transporter shown in the picture. 1930's GMC COE Trucks have a close/similiar front. Any hints to the body itself? Might have been used already in the past from Bugatti to haul their racecars. A friend of mine is looking for something like that to buy as well. Thx
Love it, most likely coach built. Very similar to this '37 GMC. Headlamps on blue version appear to have been upgraded to smaller sealed beams at some point in time https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2007/11/21/gmc-rainier-beer-truck-found/ Here's a rare crew cab version
Here's a 1937 Oldsmobile COE, the grill is slightly different from the GMC with vertical bars, however the cab appears identical. This is an Argentinian body, note p***enger side (Your driver's side) door. GMH down here also produced Oldsmobile trucks as well as GMC and Chevrolet. Argentina went to LHD after WWII. It may have originated from there? GMH produced Olds COE with diesel engines, note RHD format
Great informations here! The grill looks most likely to be the Olds as missing the vertical bars. The argentinian body lacks the seam from grill above the small service door but the whole coach build goes further than the blue one up to the hood.
