Hey, Does anyone have any experance or information on sparyable body filler? I'm told this product can be sprayed on to a damaged panel, up to an 1/8 inch thick, one hour pot like/working window, filed and sanded in one shot, to perfection with no pin holes etc. When mixed with carbon- fibre cloth, for rusted-out frame repair and floors, will exceed the steels' strength. Kinda sounds like "Tiger Hair" ta me! This stuff is made by United Resin and known as Auto Bond. Also available as Aluminum Putty and as Epoxy Steel, which is magnetic. Also, a product called Delta True Epoxy Foam is out there. Anyone? S****ey Devils C.C.
"Sandy" a spray polyester filler was around a while back -not exactly sure it still is.....It was about like Gelcoat only pourus and hard to sand.....had about an 1/8" build capability total......
I have some Zchrome I have had in the cabinet for a while. It's never been opened. Does this stuff go bad? Also, it is so soft after spraying. Should you seal it after blocking?
Sikkens Poly Surfacer is a sprayable polyester filler, its quite expensive (I think about $60 a quart with hardener), but it sands like a dream. Once you sand Polysurfacer, you wont ever want to sand a bondo skim coat again. It sands somewhere between the ease of drywall mud and your standard evercoat filler (Z-grip or rage, etc).
Root, I've used the z chrome several times. Up to a year apart after I opened the can. You have to really shake it up before you use it. I usually take it to the paint store to have them put it on the jitterbug. It sprays good and sands like the old laquer primer. I have always sealed mine. I'm a rookie though. TP
