Hi all. Does anyone know the max valve lift on an Edelbrock 1115 (flat)head.
I've contacted Edelbrock but still awaiting a reply 4 days later.
Also has anyone flycut these heads for extra valve clearance and know how much material there is to play with?
    Thanks
    Kev

People have been fly cutting aluminum flat head heads for many, many years.
Call Edelbrock back and ask them again. Just ask, "how much material can I remove and still be safe".
If they don't call back as promised, be proactive...call them back.

I would go over to the Ford Barn & ask. There are lots of guys there that have done this.

  5. Thinking you would need to know your valve lift also_Ol Ron on ford barn sez to have about 50 thou.clearence.Have you bolted the heads down with clay balls over pistons and valves to find what you have now?

I don’t have my cam yet. I already have these heads on a built running engine and was trying to select cam etc before a winter rebuild.
    I currently have a SU1A Winfield with .355” lift.
