Dallas Run, Cruise, Meet, Round-Up, Get-Together....anything?

Newbie here.....where is all the action for Dallas or North Texas? I'm checkin' out the HAMB daily and it seems nothing is going on here. Nothin' on the event Cal for like months for this area. It seems like everything goes on up north. What's the deal? Do Texas HAMBers not get together?

Not a lot goes on here during the summer... I'm guessing because it's 100 degrees (even though the humidity only gets up to about 89.3% ).

There's more going on in the fall. There's Pistons & Paint (Denton-Novemberish?), The Kustom Kings have a deal in Dennison in the Fall (can't remember the date), and a lotta people go to the KKOA thing in Dennison (last weekend in October.)

Some clubs get together every week or two... you might check into clubs if you can make the commitment.

Sammy Walkers BBQ on Thurs nights if you can stand the bling. Hooters puts on car shows once a month as does sonic.

 

I've been attending some of the bling fests lately. I'm really wanting to see more of the traditional, kustom, and some "rodent" stye rides.

 

I know 2 "dirty rodents" you will see all over D/FW and the country.

There everywhere! :lol:

Things will pick back up in the fall when it cool enough to go outside.

I,m wanting to start up a once a month gathering to bullshit and tell lies somewhere in the lewisville / Plano area. that would be about a fourty mile romp, anyway would love to meet one day cause i drive a 54 chevy.

My first "classic" vehicle was a '54 Chevy pickup. Pulled it from a barn in Missouri in two feet of snow. Had to use to trucks "trained" together to get it out. Now I have a '53, 2-'50's, and a '64.

 

thats what needs to happen a monthly GTG like they do at Chucks for the car shows

 

I am building a '64 and have a '54 waiting in the wings.

Chevrolets of course.

 

All we need is a date set, a place, and a time. Just being a GTG doesn't require registration, trophies, etc.

 

Here we go....just need to fill in tha' blanks.

we meet most every friday afternoon in beautiful downtown Krum, texas at R.C. chassis. lotta b.s. and occasionally some work gets done!

I'd be more than happy to host a bi-weekly or monthly get together at my shop in Wylie. Sounds far to alot of people but it's just outside of Plano, Garland, Rowlett....
Also be happy to let people use the shop space and tools (withen reason) during the meets. I've been interested in getting something together for awhile now, just seemed that no one was sparked...

 

I remember hanging out with like minded car guys.....it seems like it was so long ago.......we met every tuesday, worked on cars......it was awesome..........almost like I was in a car club or something.

It's great to see DFW'ers talking! However, the up northers want to run something up North and where ever you other guys are talking isn't central either. We should focus on something cen-trahl to get maximum turnouts. But thats just the 2 pesos of a newbie who's truck is currently even on the road...or at the house for that matter

Hey, here's an idea. How about a floating meeting place. Every month, or bi-weekly, weekly...WHATEVER.....we meet at a different location. One meet we could do at a shop, the next meet we do at BigKen's place, the next meet would be at my father-in-laws place (he needs an engine put back in his 66 ) and he has lot's of space, 3 or 4 acres. A GTG to B/S but also help each other out and learn . Learn??!, that's right, learn. There's always something new to learn....be it right or wrong

 

AAHHHH a community working together .I've been wondering when we could all get together and have a beer.
