  3. Clark,

If you're up to Bristol for the Conn SRA swap meet at Lake Compounce, my son-in-law can take you over and show you the New Departure plant. It's just around the corner from his father's place and has a nice big parking lot that's perfect for trying out your new gears:)

That blower is not a front mount, it's a side mount for an inline. The drive is offset to allow a shaft to drive forward to the pulley area. This would also explain the 90 degree mounts for the 97's.

The previous owner must have had ideas about putting it on a flathead though, since they scared up an intake. Doesn't the color and grime on the blower look different than the intake? Good luck finding the correct drive snout.

I've been looking at the odd mount since this post appeared. Wonder what it's for? Wonder if this is a universal part and there are adapters for various engines?

wow Clark, like Wow! Do you realize how insane that would be mounted on the front of a motor? Anyone who knows what it is would **** their britches. If it was mine I would try to front-mount it. Im not very smart and probably wouldnt be able to get it to work, so thats why god gave it to you and not me. haha.

We figured out most of how it works. I'm missing the plate that mounts it to the motor. I have the part that goes onto the crank. It has a pulley that attaches to it and sticks through the case to run the water pumps. I'll get a pic of it all together later.

Here's the pics...I wish I had a flathead to mock it up on but I don't. The SBC will have to do for know. This is how we figure it mounts. The bottom hole lines up with the crank.

The pic of the gear I'm holdin is the gear that goes on the crank. I can't get it through the case right now. the seal is a little hard and I didn't want to force it.

Kevin...your idea of it being universal is good but it would have to be a motor that the water pump doesn't interfere. As you can see you would have to run a remote pump on the sbc.
