36-40 Lasalle Grilles look great on 36 Fords! Seen plenty of those examples. But how about on some 37’s? Please share some photos if you have them... Also, if you have hands-on knowledge, please share your thoughts on which of these grilles is the most desirable, best looking, best for modification, etc. Thanks in advance!
The guy that put a 48 Packard grille in my 37 back in 1948 told me the Lasalle grill were to expensive . So he put a poor man's Las elle grille in it which is a Packard !
Mo, what model/year car is that? Got any other shots? Calling all 37 Fords with LaSalle grilles. Time to show your stuff! [emoji91]
32Stoker, That pic was on another HAMB thread, but is no longer visible. It may have been originally posted by Rik Hoving (Rikster). I'm sure he can tell you more about it. Here is Norm Milne's Westergard-restyled '38, from Rikster's Photo Archives.
Still no 37’s with 36-39 LaSalle Grilles? Had no idea the mod was THAT rare... Which of the 36-39 LaSalle Grilles are considered to be the most desirable? Learn me up...
Thanks for sharing @Rikster. Lovely car! Looks like the stock 37 grille becomes a donor frame for the modified grille. Also the nose of the stock hood is cut in order to make room for the top of the taller LaSalle grille. For my own car, I would prefer to keep the nose of the hood stock/uncut and find a shorter grille to fit (like Hank37’s 48 Packard) or just section-to-fit a 36-39 LaSalle grille. Any photos out there of a 37 with a LaSalle grille modification and a stock/uncut hood?
Did you do the fabrication work @Hank37? Looks great! Please share any shots you may have of the interior grille frame...
