I have a 36 Terraplane with the hood removed and it's not apparent to me what if anything holds the hood onto the car. I have the two hood halves and a chrome spear that I think will hold the halves together? I do not see any mounting hardware.

    Can anyone help?

    TIA, Mike.

Maybe try sliding the hood sides into the chrome spear? Brackets at the ends of the spear? Pictures?

    Hey Mike,
The hood sides hinge to the top with a rod, and the sides have handles and the mechanisms that
hold the ***embly down in both front and rear.

OK so I'm back and I still haven't learned to install this hood. The car is stored away but I expect to spend some time working on it this summer and I still need to learn what the hardware looks like that holds this hood hinge to the radiator support. I'd also love it if someone could give me some tips on installing the hoods without scratching things.

Yes there is a spear that appears to connect the hood halves together. There is one T-bolt that slides into the spear and appears to bolt down to the firewall. The question is with the front end of the spear. it looks like there used to be a "T" shaped metal bracket that the spear slid onto but if that is true I can't imagine how I would slide the entire ***embly together. I'm talking about the spear and two hood halves which it seems to me would be pretty tough to handle without scratching things.

Still no pictures? Some of us don't have a '36 Terraplane to look at.
