Those are nice. Been thinking about different taillights for the 54. Are these the correctt width for the opening or is some surgery required. Tks

Surgery is necessary. I had to open up the existing hole by a 1/2” all the way around. Then the Olds buckets sit back in that opening by about an inch. The backing plate from the Olds becomes a clamp of sorts, since the quarter panel tapers in at the back.

Had those on my '54. Took them off in favor of the '56 Olds. Still have them if anyone is interested PM me.

Do you have pics of them on yours? Lenses only or the whole piece? I'd love to see them....Hadn't come across any yet.

Had the complete light on mine, just like yours. They were very easy to install. Don't have any pictures. I ran them for quite a while. Decided to do a mild custom on mine and got carried away and am building a late '50's style mild custom. Going with frenched '56 Olds taillights, frenched headlights and custom grille.

Very cool....Easy to get carried away. Did you use the 3 bolt backing plate as a clamp to secure yours after widening the hole too? Strange that you don't see these used much, as easy as it was to install . Did you see anyone else use them this way or was it an idea you stumbled upon? Id love to see the progress on yours now. Thanks Noswal!

I saw one at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green a few years ago. I liked the look and how easy he told me it was and gave it a try. I'll try and get some pictures and see if I can figure out how to post them.
