SOLD SOLD Here is a "time warp" project for the guy who loves old drag cars. Built in the 60s this old dragster belongs to a friend of mine who has had it stored in his warehouse for some time. He is now ready for it to have a new home. Most of the info he has about it comes from the sign that accompanied the car when he got it, however I have looked it over carefully several times. Several old time racers who have looked at the car think it has a Chassis Research chassis even though the sign says something about an "International" chassis. The engine has been confirmed by block numbers to be a '56 Desoto 330 Hemi. It does have a Hilborn injection system that is missing a couple injector stacks. The engine has never been apart with this owner and is currently stuck but has always been inside. The distributor is an old dual point but most likely is not original to the engine as it is a push-start car and would have had a magneto in it's racing days. Engine is coupled by a homemade clutch-housing to a Ford flathead transmission using 2nd and high. Rear end is an Oldsmobile with 4:30 gears. One header is missing the zoomie pipes but the header flange is there laying on the good header. Rear end has old 15" Racemaster pie-crust slicks on real 5-spoke Halibrands with real 12-spoke Halibrands up front on a cut-away Ford axle. Dragster rolls and steers. Has original seat, and parachute. The body is a fiberglass 23 T. What you see in the pictures is what you get. It is a project but it is very cool and other than missing the magneto it is complete and untouched since its racing days. $6500 is bottom! Car is located in Niles, MI about 10 miles from my house in northern Indiana. PM me here on the HAMB with questions or to purchase. Bill of sale only. Shipping is buyer responsibility. NO TRADES!
