I am driving down the road in my hot rod listening to the Flathead purring, then all of a sudden some jack*** going the other way wants to tell me that he approves by blowing his F%$#&in horn at me scaring the hell out of me. A thumbs up in nice or a wave, but to lean on the horn is just plain stupid. This happens often. There I got it off my chest!:)

I was awake, just had my eyes closed.

  4. Would you like it better if they blew the horn and gave you a wave with the middle finger?

I can't stand the jerks that while driving down a highway at about 65 they pull up next to you and beep. Then they pull out their camera phone and while trying to steer with one hand, take a picture of you with the other.

I live on a State highway, it pisses me off when people go by the house and blow their horns. 99% of the time I don't know the vehicle, even if I see it, which most of the time I don't. Wife will ask me, "Who was that?", to which I usually reply, " How the hell do I know? Am I supposed to know who they are by the sound of their horn?"

I get what you’re saying as the horn often is related to something wrong however maybe I’m a problem too: When people go by me with thumbs up or friendly wave, I beep the horn as a thank you response.

I hear you Mark, I've had people pull along side and blow the horn while your driving on the interstate, that can scare the **** outta you. HRP

You guys should be happy people honk and wave. They are the ones that support and/or appreciate the hobby. It's all the other ones who don't, you guys should start to worry about.

I do exactly the same thing....give them a little thank you beep.

What bothers me is people tend to steer in the direction they are looking. They are cruising along side of you, staring at your car and start drifting towards your lane. Sometimes I have to give them a second horn.

what I find odd is on the rare occasion I drive my 61 Dodge to work in Bay Area commute traffic very few people even notice there is a very strange car on the road beside them.

Give me the middle finger all day long! That's great, as I might not see it, and even if I did, who cares......
Blast your horn..... Be prepared for some kind of feedback......

Install a train horn. When they blast their horn at you, give them a nice thank-you blast back.

A LITTLE off topic but..........Saw a cool t-shirt on a Harley rider yesterday:
"Honk if you've ever wondered what it was like to see a hand gun fired from a moving motorcycle!"
    Laughed out loud!!

My wife and I play a game when we are driving together, she gets one point for every Prius she p***es but she loses 2 for every one that p***es her. Fun game. I set a number upfront and a cash reward, say 7 points on our way to the coast for a holiday and a couple hundred dollars at the coast casino if she pulls it off.

Well today she wasn't with me (thank God) when I underestimated the fuel I had onboard on the 34 roadster. I just needed to run 2 miles to the closest station but she ran dry a hundred yards shy.

I made the right hand turn lane on the highway but then it was out of the car and start pushing. Then the inevitable happened, a Prius not only p***ed me but honked at me for some reason only known to Prius drivers. ****! I was too tired to flip him/her/it off. fortunately for me, a bunch of guys in 4X4s lent a hand and pushed her to the pump. If the Prius driver had offered I would have told her/him/it to pack f'n sand!

In the 90's when I was living in the Bay Area, I was using my '59 Chevy PU, 235 and 4.10's? (had the posi in it) as a daily driver, all I got was younger people p***ing me and hollering "pull over if you can't drive it"...and I was doing 60-65...lol.

Glad I don't deal with the impatient *******s any more;)

i often wondered why women sometimes pay no attention to anyone around them. until i started driving my '60's g***er henry j on the street. you eventualy stop paying any interest in anybody else and what they want to say. i couldn't just get gas without all the ? about the car. you get to a point where you wont talk to anybody and people think your an ***.
