1948-50 F1 pickup owners! I need a measurement.

Hope that somebody could tell me the width of the lower grill panel. The one that goes between the bottom of the front fenders. I dont have the original, so I have to fab a new one. Think I could have tried to guess it, but the correct measure would help me to align the front so it becomes close to original.

 

The panel measures 59 5/8 straight across. If you need anything else let us know.

 

I just noticed you have a 49. Mine is a 51 so that dimention is wrong. Sorry I must not be awake yet.

 

I measured my 50 and if you make a straight line from corner panel to corner panel it is 25 inches but if you make the curve that is in the panel it is 25 5/16. I hope this helps.

 

Looks like we have agreement. My early '48 is also 25 inches straight across.

i think i know where there is one of those in a boneyard within an hour of me (he actually has 4 of the trucks; one of them probably has a good one). would it be worth the shipping to have a replacement instead of making one from scratch?
