Drive when weather ok. Also use only alcohol free gas during the winter driving (non driving) season. Also put the gas in everything that runs on gas. Dont like
cleaning the white stuff out of the carbs.... Check for alcohol free gas in your area

Fill gas tanks with non alcohol gas, add StaBil, plug in the battery tenders, add Bounce dryer sheets to interior, trunks and engine compartments to repel mice (so far it seems to work well). All in heated garages too.

Change oil, disconnect the ground battery cable, put a cover over it. Start it at least once a month, making sure it warms up throughly (maybe 1/2 hour or so-don't let it just idle all the time - rev it up a bit). Always have used 10 ethanol, no problems with it sitting for the four months and being able to restart. No **** like Sta-Bil. No need of a battery tender either. Unheated garage.

Been doing it this way for 35 years.

Put it in the enclosed trailer, pull the battery, sprinkle lots of Bounce dryer sheets in and around it, park trailer next to polebarn until spring. Use open space in garage for skidsteer(snow removal).

I drive mine until the salt hits the road. After that I dont do anything special. Just start it and let it run 30 minutes or so.

Change the oil and make sure the anti freeze is at proper levels for your climate. I've heard two sides to the whole start it every month and I would just leave it. When you start it for 10 minutes it heats up then cools right down causing condensation inside the motor. You also end up with gas and **** in your fresh oil you just changed. That is based on an article put out by the Guild I read years ago. I'm not going to lie I have done both start and no start in the past and unless you tear the motor down in the spring I don't know how you would really ever know if one method is better then the other. Anti freeze is the most important for obvious reasons but is often over looked.

My cat takes care of any mice threat. She spends the night in the garage plus returns every now and then during the day.
