The whole roof is wrong for a regular coupe--it isn't filled, I think its a Special/business cloth top type coupe with a fabricated lid matching the shape of the former cabriolet-looking top.
i noticed the roof was different too, just couldn't find what type of car it was. guy says it's a ford model a.
put a killer slant chop on it and do it up late 60's showcar style. thinking something like..uncertain-T
It's a normal '28-9 Ford. The cloth type coupes, which I'm nearly certain this is, looked exactly like convertibles except for the door tops, but did not fold. There were two versions, one with little oval decorative quarter windows, one with fake landau irons, otherwise identical. Iy you covered that roof with cloth the car would look just about like original. Notice it has sort of peaks like a cloth top bow showing through the canvas...
bad***, thanks bruce. thanks to the rest of the fellas, i appreciate all the input/info. i'm hoping this deal goes thru
I thought you were thinking it needed a set of 22" blings under it rather then those small diameter wires...
Ya know, looking at the factory photo, and since the 32 radiator fits the 30-31 A grille shell I wonder how it'd work out if a guy stuck a late A grille shell on a Deuce? Maybe change a few other 32 type styling clues and make, if not a phantom, a car that'd have the troops scratching their heads. Call it a prototype Deuce....
The prototype factory studies of three-window late Model A's have been discussed a few times on Ahooga.com, and there are two different prototypes to be found in archived pictures. An example of at least one actually still exists. The one shown above is a late slant-winshield A with no visor, another example of Ford edging towards '32...
The shape looks like a 28/29 Model A sport coupe. I had one back in the 60s. The top didn't go down but rather the back portion of the top unziped so you could fasten it to one of the cross bows. That allowed you to talk to the p***engers in the rumble seat. It was pretty cool for 4 of us to cruise around town in.
