Dale Fairfax’s old coupe, 2” chop by Dave Kinnaman. Removed the fiberglass widened fenders and am making a few other changes.

    I think this makes it a 5 3/8 chop 71838468_3645675278779862_5899229308672540672_n.jpg

Looks like the middle pillars are too high.
Or the rear part needs a bit of filler (height wise) to give a mean rake to the chop.

I would be hesitant to take out any from the rear.
More pictures on your own thread may be a good idea.
Roof looks a little flat from the front also.

  8. I wondered what happened to Dale's old coupe.
    Nice car just made better

I will look at how you set this up to achieve this standard with great expectation - knowing these "individuals" will try to cut you down on it, your experience will assist a lot of guys out here to achieve our goals building a heavily chopped car in Victoria - the Nanny state

Had to scroll back a few pages to make sure I hadn't posted it on this thread. Not mine but it belongs to a friend. Photos taken by me at Deuce days this year. He drove it to Deuce days in primer three years ago and it was pretty well totaled then a semi pushed them into the barrier on I 5 on the way home. After getting it home and pretty well torn down he hauled it to our Fellow Hamber Rocket's Hotrod Garage's crew did the repairs and got the body and chassis back in better shape than they ever had been. Then it was shipped across town where a local shop did the paint work and returned home to where the owner assembled it. The car has had close to 10 K put on it since the 4th of July. The trip to Victoria for Deuce days followed by a road trip to Lewisville for the street rod nats and a scenic tour on the way back with a stop in Wendover during speedweek.
The last three photos were taken July 30, 2015 at Rocket's Hot Garage open house before the Vintiques Nationals. IMG_5871.JPG IMG_5870.JPG IMG_5872.JPG IMG_5878.JPG IMG_7126.JPG IMG_7124.JPG IMG_7128.JPG

  18. Been posted many times over the years (understandably) and also answers the question "Can I use parallel leaves as rear suspension in my hiboy deuce?"

Here's 2 more of my 32 Ford Henry chopped 5 windows that I've built recently. The gray one is not completely finished. I still have a few more things

I’ve always thought that the Hop Up Jive Five was one of the best ever 9BFC7FEA-B7D8-4B5A-8BC2-7AF81F098BBE.jpeg 03089857-63F3-4279-8456-E88796978D3D.jpeg 16A7D48F-17FD-4A15-A782-5B58199633A3.jpeg

Here is mine. 5.5 inch chop and stretched the top instead of laying the windshield back. 83D9741E-EFA7-49AE-A026-8B576829502E.jpeg

Yes, you can. Not as clean looking as a buggy spring or coil-overs, but do ride and handle well. I ran them unser a couple pf full-fendered cars, but not as a highboy. Two of our members (Strokers) run them in their 5W coupes. 90% of the people wouldn't know the difference today. 2015 Strokers party 035.JPG Don Cavanaugh Ty Rods.jpg

    070A631B-0865-4EC8-93F4-E89E09F33803.jpeg At post #254, its a nice chopped 5W ( Tony T )

I wonder how much is that chopped and more to read on that car ( build-up )
I can't find anything more on that car.
    Its a VERY nice chop.

My 5W is having a brutal and really ugly chop at around 3" made long tine ago in Texas ( my guess as it was a old dragracing car there channaled ) The roof is totally destroyed.
Several metalworkers here has look at it overhere ( Sweden ) but they walked away.
Body has no rust and it's a new floor but the guy installed it ( here in Sweden ) had no door end gaps so it must be re-done.
I payed rather big money on this but to get a better body in USA and travell to look, shippings, taxes etc, so this one was 20 minutes from me.
I heard from USA body ( nice ones ) can be 30-40K, or more.
I got sofa, dash, doors, trunk, decent door handles, window crank mechanism and a firewall with thottle pedal, gastank, window garnish and front window frame, at converted 22K.
If the sidewindow is inside frame 13" std ( ?) my is 10".
I was into just use that chop or go down lower as Bobby Hilton ’angry coupes’.

    I guess I stay around 3.5" max.
But nice to know Tony T's chop if more in front than back or tilted fron window etc.

  27. Lets bring this thread back up and get it going again.
I'd love to see more pics of chopped and channeled 32 Fivers. Anyone have any pics or links?
Heres a pic of my 32 Five window from 1956 at the Abbottsford BC drags.

    Cheers eh!
