Once again we faced the challenge of upgrading our shoebox while still keeping the period correct look on our dash...previously we posted a thread on retrofitting instrument cluster...the challenge now is the heat /ac / defrost controls.. We installed a vintage air unit and while they offer some very slick control panels that would look great we wanted to try fitting the vintage air electronic controls in the OEM housings...and before l forget let me say a big thank you to Justin Devries at Vintage Air for the ideas. Once again the pictures tell the story much better than l can...
I did the same thing about 12 years ago to a Hobby members shoe box. I also cut up the heater box and installed the evaporator in it. I'll see if I can find pics.
Hi...Very nicely done...I admire your craftsmanship...l have some more stuff for the dash build you may find interesting l will post soon...love to see some photos of your work and do you have any other ideas regarding the shoebox? Thanks Tom
The outside vents exit through grilles we made by cutting some holes in the triangle trim on the edges of dash the p***enger side hose is routed through the glovebox...l am still working on something creative for the center vents....any thoughts?
