Nice find on that old 1958 drag racing movie. It has been at least 60 years and many changes to this icon of American drag racing. As teenagers, my brother and I were introduced to the December 1959 version at a West Coast drag race that was the first time out here for many Eastern/Midwest racers to team up. In March of 1960 we saw the same Speed Sport Roadster just rip at Bakersfield Smokers’ March Meet.

In 2018, it had been nearly 60 years difference, but the Speed Sport Roadster went back to the original layout and design. Now, it is one of the central participants in the current Cacklefests and the Nitro Revival scene.
